In-Season Skill Sessions for Associations
Skating Dynamics can work with your hockey association to build a Skill
Development Program specific to the needs of your members. We have
dedicated ourselves to teaching proper hockey technique as it applies to
skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting, scoring, checking and position
specific training for forwards and defensemen.
Skating Dynamics can conduct individual skill programs in a specified skill or if desired and appropriate, design a program combining individual
skills. Each program is designed and individualized for the age and
skill level of the group being taught including technical difficulty and
pace of instruction. Sessions can be scheduled with a multiple day
format and can be scheduled during the week or the weekend. There
can be one or more training groups scheduled per day.
What Is The Most Effective Method Of Improving
Your Organization Or Team?
The single most effective method of improving the overall skill level
of an organization or team is to develop a comprehensive program of individual
skill building. Individual skills are most often neglected, even though
they are the single most important aspect of a player’s development. Skating
Dynamics has dedicated itself to the teaching of proper hockey technique
as it applies to skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting, positional play
and checking. The proper understanding and application of these individual
skills are the key to hockey success and enjoyment.
What Age Groups and Skill Levels Do You
Train?
Skating Dynamics has trained athletes ranging from the professional ranks
down through mites. We modify and refine our teaching methods and techniques
to challenge each program participant. Highly skilled athletes will refine
and improve their skills with our instruction while less experienced athletes
will be challenged but not overwhelmed. We train both male and female athletes
and have the ability to modify the training environment to suite the needs
of a team or organization. We work with adult leagues, high schools, juniors,
college teams as well as the traditional junior hockey organization or teams,
ranging from mite through midget AAA competition.
When Do You Hold Your Skill Sessions?
Organization and team skill sessions are conducted between the months
of September through May. During the summer months, we conduct our week-long
skill sessions throughout the country.
Skating Dynamics will work with any organization or team to develop as
much programming as they desire. We have the ability to work with every
skill and age level. On regular school or work days, we can schedule three
to four sessions per day depending upon the age level of the participants
and the organization’s ability to schedule ice. On weekends or days when
school or work is not scheduled, we can conduct three sessions of three
hours each. We have the capacity to schedule straight through the week.
We will match the needs of the organization and/or team whenever possible.
How Often Do You Recommend An Organization Or Team Develop
This Type Of Programming?
We recommend a minimum of once a year for professional training in the
development of skating, stickhandling, passing and shooting skills. There
is no better method of improving the overall ability of all organization
or team members. We recommend a fall program consisting of skating and stickhandling
and a spring program consisting of skating and passing/shooting. Checking
should be developed in conjunction with skating, as proper skating technique
and leverage are the two most important aspects of body checking.
What Is The Responsibility Of The Organization And/Or Team?
The organization or team schedules and pays for the ice time of each
skill session and collects all program fees and registration forms.
Hockey associations must guarantee a minimum of two groups of twenty participants
per training day while individual teams must guarantee a minimum of twelve
participants per training session. Payment is required to be made
at the start of each clinic.
What Is The Responsibility Of Skating Dynamics?
Skating Dynamics will produce a brochure for each organization or team
describing the program and will provide program content and an instructor(s)
for each session. Skating Dynamics does not franchise or in any other way
dilute our program content or teaching methods. Our reputation has been
established and is based upon our ability to not only get results but to
get results at an affordable price. We want each program participant to
work hard, get better and have fun.
What Is The Cost Of A Program?
► Hockey Association Fee
When the hockey association pays for the ice and provides a minimum of
two groups of twenty participants, the minimum cost is $15/Player/Hour or
$90.00/Player for a six-hour program. The total minimum cost for a
hockey association is $3600 based on 40 participants. If a hockey
association would like to schedule more than six-hours of training then
the $15/Player/Hour rate will apply to the additional training hours.
► Team Fee
When a hockey team pays for the ice, the cost is $15/Player/Hour when
six-hours or more have been scheduled. When scheduling less than six-hours
of training the cost is $20/Player/Hour. A minimum of twelve participants
is required for all team programs. By mutual agreement, fees, session
size and other aspects of the program may be altered.
Are There Any Other Costs?
Unless there has been some special arrangement or some specialized training
developed or the training site is further than eight driving hours
there are no other program fees. If the training site is beyond the eight
hour drive time or special transportation arrangements have to be made to
accommodate program scheduling, Skating Dynamics will charge the organization
or team for all associated transportation costs on a dollar for dollar basis.
Additionally, if lodging is in excess of one hundred dollars per night per
room, all fees in excess of the one hundred dollars will be charged to the
contracting organization or team on a cost basis. All program costs and
fees are based upon U.S. currency.
