Meet the Instructors

Ken Field
Founder and Executive Director

Ken began his hockey career in Marquette, Michigan. Playing on two state champion teams and one national runner up team at the bantam level, Ken progressed through junior hockey to play at the University of Wisconsin-Stout until retiring due to injury.  Ken began giving skating lessons at the age of 16 and formed Skating Dynamics in 1997.  After three successful years of operation, Ken was hired by the IMG Hockey Academy as their Head Skills Coach.  At IMG, Ken was in charge of on and off ice skill development for IMG's professional clients, future prospects and aspiring amateurs competing at the Midget and Bantam AAA levels.  While at IMG, Ken continued consulting with Skating Dynamics and in 2001,  returned to the company and resumed his position as Executive Director.  Since Skating Dynamics' inception, Ken has trained thousands of players and coaches including those who currently or have competed at the youth, junior, collegiate and professional levels.

Instructor Staff

Our instructors consist of current and former Junior A, Division I and III College and Professional Players.  In addition to requiring a high skill level from our instructors, we select instructors based on their ability to communicate and teach athletes.  All instructors participate in mandatory training sessions that include an on and off ice overview of program content, teaching and coaching techniques, sessions focused on child psychology and written testing of all these topics.  Our instructors are passionate about the game of hockey and truly enjoy working with players dedicated towards improving their individual skill level.
